Hallasan National Park

Hallasan National Park beautifully lies in Jeju Island, South Korea. It turned into ninth national park in Korea in 1970. It is displaying highest mountain in South Korea, Hallasan Volcano on Jeju Island. Its richness is including this park into UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2002 and World Heritage Site in 2007. Hallasan Mountain is a right site to enjoy daytime hiking but you should look for the mountain entrance hours as it is vary by season. However it is strictly allowing its hikers to climb down the mountain before sunset.

Hallasan centered Jeju Island within its prominent landmarks. It is also called Mountain Yeongjusan as it means high mountain to pull the galaxy. This peak living 1,800 kinds of plantations and 4,000 animal species in which you can watch 3,300 different species of insects. Hallasan Mountain is easy to hike within less than 10 km hiking courses so you can going to the peak and back in a day. However local weather is always changing and has a lot of wind so you should prepare well before climbing this mountain.
Hallasan National Park opens at 06.00 in winter season on November until February. In Spring and Autumn season on March, April, September and October, you can start at 05.30 while it is earlier at Summer season on May until August. However you will get it prohibit entering during bad weather for hiker’s safety. Hallasan gathers five types of courses like Seongpanak, Eorimok, Eoseungsaengak, Yeongsil and Gwaneumsa. Each of them offers various ways, timing period to walk, and different peak to go. Here Hallasan also provides parking facilities, campstite, hiking trails, mountain shelters, visitor center and restrooms. You should not pay anything for its admission but facility utilization is in charge. Its campsite fees range in 3,000 won until 6,000 won while shower prices 300 won until 600 won. You can get this mountain from Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal and you can get off at the entrance of Eorimok Trail or Seongpanak in 35 minutes.
