Kanazawa

Kanazawa blushed by the blossom cherry flowers in the late of flower season. It delivers tranquil beauty of nature in the middle of April through one of Japanese best garden. Kanazawa lies on the northwestern Tokyo, in the Japan Sea. It bordered by the Japan Alps, Hakusan National Park, and Noto Peninsula National Park. You can reached Kanazawa from Tokyo easily with Japanese express train, Sinkansen. You can ride Joetsu Shinkansen to the limited express train in Echigo – Yuzawa. Even it is nearer from Kyoto and Osaka, it is just two hours travel by its express train.

The most majestic view of Kanazawa is Kenrokuen Garden. It built as outer garden of Kanazawa castle that filled by a variety of trees, ponds, waterfalls, and flowers. The garden was stretching over 25 acres with a line of trees in its gate nearby the Kanazawa palace. It creates nice frame for you taking pictures but you should try perfect cherry flowers party in hanami party. Besides its pink flowers rug, this area also displayed stone lantern, bridge painting and nobel pagoda.

In winter this park marked by yukitsuri – ropes that had tightened in conical trees to remain the trees under the weight of heavy wet snow. The back gate of Kenrokuen is Ishikawa-mon. Kanazawa also has former village geisha houses in Higashi Geisha District. This district lies on the Asano river which connected by its old stone bridge. It is the area where you can imagine Japan in the past.

Nearby this past trace building, there is pre modern Japanese nuance spread by Yougetsu Minshuku. This area maintained as classical Japan that marked by morning mist. At night, Taisho period street lamps turned on as the border of the road. Further Kanazawa known by its traditional cooking called Kaga cuisine. The cook is expert on their seafood cuisine especially jumbo shrimp. The traditional alcohol drink or sake produced carefully in its fine quality. It tastes smooth and sweet made from rice as its main product of Ishikawa Prefecture.
